Potential New Skater Meet and Greet

After the weekly open Drop-in Derby practice, we will be holding a meet-and-greet for potential new skaters to ask any questions they may have about tryouts, league expectations, or roller derby in general! We recommend all potential new recruits attend Drop-in Derby this evening as well.

Drop-in Derby

The Wagon Wheel Skate Center is proud to present Drop-In-Derby League, a recreational roller derby league! DID will operate during the Denver Roller Dolls’ off season and will be open to women who are interested in trying out for DRD, current DRD skaters, retired DRD skaters, and any woman (21 years and older) who is interested in playing roller derby.
On Jan 17th only, there will only be two hours of skating at DID, followed by a one hour “meet and greet” where skaters interested in trying out for the Denver Roller Dolls can meet current skaters and learn more about tryout expectations and league requirements.
DID Schedule:
Sunday: 7:00-9:00pm (2 hour practice)
Open to both DRD & DID
1st hour (7:00-8:00): Basic Skating Skills
2nd hour (8:00-9:00): Endurance / Derby Drills
The cost for DID practices is $10.00 for a single practice. Payment goes directly to the Wagon Wheel. Payment for practices is required upfront, the first day you attend practice. DID will operate during the Denver Roller Dolls’ off season and will be open to women who are interested in trying out for DRD, current DRD skaters, retired DRD skaters, and any woman (21 years and older) who is interested in playing roller derby.
New time! As of Jan 3, Drop-In Derby will start at 7pm.
DID Schedule:
Sunday: 7:00-10:00pm (3 hour practice)
Open to both DRD & DID

The Wagon Wheel Skate Center is proud to present Drop-In-Derby League, a recreational roller derby league! DID will operate during the Denver Roller Dolls’ off season and will be open to women who are interested in trying out for DRD, current DRD skaters, retired DRD skaters, and any woman (21 years and older) who is interested in playing roller derby.
DID will start November 22, 2009 and is scheduled to operate every Sunday until mid-January. DID dates that fall on DRD special occasions will be rescheduled. Dates for these are currently TBD.

Sunday: 5:30-8:30pm (3 hour practice)

1st hour (5:30-6:30): Basic Skating Skills
2nd hour (6:30-7:30): Endurance / Derby Drills
3rd hour (7:30-8:30): Scrimmage
