BIO//Bea (aka Rivas) works and lives in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. By day, she works as a civil engineer in the bustling energy efficiency field. By night, she works the track as a booty-blocking, hip-checking 4-eyed monster.
ATHLETIC BACKGROUND//Bea grew up playing just about every sport out there and loved them all. In the end, she devoted her college years to rugby, where she donned black and gold for the CC Tigers. The blood, sweat and tears of so much time spent on the pitch is what Bea credits for her fearlessness on the track. It was also this rugby career that left Bea her most obvious derby trademark, her goggles. One good mid-match finger to the eye, sent Bea to the ER, and 72 hours later - Bea traded in an eyepatch for rec specs and never looked back.
Four years after retiring the black and gold, Bea met the one and only Dharma Gedden, who introduced her to the sport of her dreams. It took Bea seconds to fall in love with roller derby, and only a bit longer to learn how to roller skate...
