DOLL SINCE//May 2009
TEAM(S)// Shotgun Betties // Bruising Altitude // Mile High Club
PRIMARY POSITION//Blocker
BIO//Shannon works by day as an engineer for an energy efficiency and renewable energy consulting firm, but come practice/bouting time, she plays as a hard-hitting, impassable blocker. Originally a New Mexican born and raised, as a Boulderite she commutes 45+ minutes to and from practice, so to harness a road rage free mindset, she also teaches and practices yoga and meditation.
ATHLETIC BACKGROUND//Shannon grew up playing tennis as her dad is the Yale men's tennis coach, but it wasn't until high school that she experimented with other sports. In addition to tennis, she played soccer and ran track and cross country. She discovered that she liked team sports and anything that will keep her in shape, so in college she played 4 years of rugby and developed a healthy knack for full contact athleticism. Not until after grad school did she realized all those years of roller skating as a kid and tackling girls in college would pay off for her in now one of her favorite sports of all time...DERBY!
