Our Teams
The Denver Roller Dolls League is made up of four home teams, the Bad Apples, the Electrocuties, the Green Barrettes and the Shotgun Betties. When skaters have passed a standardized rules and on-skate skills test, they are drafted to one of these three teams. These teams primarily bout against each other, although they will occasionally take on teams from other leagues. (In 2009, the Bad Apples played against the Fort Collins Chanel Cartel, the Green Barrettes played against Greeley’s Slaughterhouse Derby Girls, and the Shotgun Betties hosted the Pikes Peak Slamazons in addition to bouting against each other).
Skaters who show the dedication and talent to compete at a higher level may be drafted to one of two travel teams in addition to their home team. The Mile High Club is our All-Star squad. They represent the league at a National level, playing WFTDA-sanctioned bouts that determine the league’s WFTDA ranking. A complete review of the Mile High Club’s bouting history since joining WFTDA in 2007 may be viewed on the team’s profile page on FlatTrackStats.com.
In 2009 a second travel team, Bruising Altitude, was introduced to give more skaters the opportunity to gain interleague bouting experience.
Not all league members are on a team: these unassigned skaters may be still developing their skills, coming back from injury, or have recently transferred from another league.
